Family Album Paintings
Family Album paintings grew from a body of work I did in college creating a painted research project for the community of Cedar Mountain, NC.
That particular body of work incorporates old photos copied from the scrapbooks from the Cedar Mountain community near Brevard, North Carolina. Mixed media techniques were utilized, as well as painted symbolism relevant to the concept of each piece to create a painted visual response to the history of this community as told through stories, photos, the land, and the people of Cedar Mountain.
My vision for Family album paintings is to tell your family's story as told through old photographs, stories, fond memories, and visual imagery that represents those stories. Family Album paintings are a beautiful way to display and honor your family's heritage as told through art.
Each painting is hand built, stretched, and painted by myself with great care and attention to craftsmenship. I take pride in my work and creating solid and gorgeous paintings that will be passed down through generation to generation. These paintings are a mixture of mediums including acrylic paint, copies of photographs, letters, newspaper clippings, ink, pastel, and oil paint.
