Heirloom & Oil

The name Heirloom & Oil was dreamt up over several years of wanting a name that paired my love of photography and my love of painting together into one name. And let's be honest, would you ever remember how to spell Maranda LeFebvre? My first bodies of work were all oil paintings centered around family photo's. I did two bodies of work in college based on the idea of an abstracted family photo album and my love of old photos. I'm also a photographer and treasure family photo albums. A lot of my current work includes painting using other families treasured photos as reference photos. Heirloom = old family photos, albums, and art that can be passed down from generation to generation. Oil= My first love, oil painting. Although I now offer watercolor as well, oil painting will always be my roots. Hopefully this clears up any craving you might have gotten for an heirloom tomato. But just for fun, here's me as a baby in a tomato truck tire.
